Rachel Nash
University Park, Dallas, TXRachel Nash came to Dallas for SMU, studied art, art history, and psychology, then kept going — earning a Master of Arts in Art Therapy from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She came back to Dallas and opened her own gallery, where she spent years selecting work, supporting emerging artists, and learning exactly what makes a painting hold a room. It's the kind of education you can't get in a studio.
Her own work is oil on canvas — abstract, physical, and color-forward. She paints on large canvases using her whole body, working with complementary colors and layering until the surface has weight and movement. The paintings are abstract but not remote. There's always something recognizable in them: a mood, a tension, a moment just before things resolve.
She takes a limited number of commissions each year and works from her studio in University Park.
